I am Perry de Jong (de Young), the tenor of Living River and the husband to my wife and best friend, Stephanie. I am the father of four wonderful children, Nicholas, Christian, Benjamin, and Olivia Joy.   I want to thank my family and especially my wife who is there when I am on the road singing.  Thank you Stephanie, I love you!!

When I was a young boy I made the decision to ask Jesus Christ into my life.  Growing up in a Christian home and following the example and teaching of my mother and father, I learned the way of salvation.  My sister and I always knew that God was to be most important in all that we did.  Music was a very important part of my life as I grew.  Singing with my sister next to the Hammond organ as Dad played will always be one of my best memories.

After high school I enlisted in the Army and was trained as a Combat Medic.  I served with the Army Reserve for 9 years.  During that time I also was a college student and husband.  In 1990 I was shipped overseas for Operation Desert Storm.

Since those days, I have become a teacher of 8th grade Social Studies in Wausau.   My life is very busy most of the time.  I enjoy the outdoors by fishing, hunting, camping and riding ATV’s with my family.  Between all of these things I sing with LRQ.

Spending time with three of the best buddies a guy could ever have is a great privilege.  The time that we share singing God’s praises and Salvation is awesome.  I feel very blessed and proud to be a part of Living River.
